John Egan
Before coming to the Bay John Egan had been in the dental industry for 40 years. Originally from Invercargill, he worked in a dental laboratory for 12 years. John then moved to Dunedin to work at the Otago University School of Dentistry. John wore many hats during his 30-year career at the University: dental technician, clinical tutor, program coordinator, lecturer and clinical technician.
In 2006, John completed his Master of Health Science Degree and has published in peer reviewed dental journals with his research. He has sat on both national and international industry and educational committees. This approach means John is always learning and has a network of colleagues to discuss cases with. “No man is a mountain” is one of John’s favourite quotes.
John opened the Havelock North clinic and laboratory in December 2016. The two years there have been most enjoyable meeting many different people from all walks of life. One of the most intriguing and rewarding aspects are the many elderly patients with over fifty 90+ year old patients whose vitality and demeanour is quite incredible.
This month (November 2018) John has opened his 2nd clinic in Napier where many clients have rung to ask if he is over there. John looks forward to the clientele at this clinic.
